Red, I agree with that concern in general, but somehow Casper actually addresses that. Before I moved to Ghost, I used Casper for a couple fo years to clone my boot drive from within Windows and the clone always booted. Caveat is that this was under XP.

It must remove the mounted devices registry key or at least alter it so the cloned drive has the correct drive letter associated with the clones disk signature.
