Re: Does Ghost 15 work under Window 7 64 bit?

My suggestion was to boot the recovery disk.

Just try it please and you will see what happens

When I try to create a SRD within Windows 7 64-bit, it shows following items not able to use for 64-bit

1) WAN Miniport (IKEv2)

2) Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection

I don't know whether I should keep going on the next step or not.

If I boot from recovery disk, it shows the restore environment for Ghost 15, but it is not convenience to restore window using recovery disk, is there any other approach to work around the lightout restore under window 7 64 bit, or create a virtual drive, so I don't need to use recovery disk.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks you very much for any suggestions

Re: Does Ghost 15 work under Window 7 64 bit?

Thanks for trying it.

As you could see, it was a very small version of windows vista 32bits and it runs the Ghost recovery enviroment.

Regardless of what version of windows your system uses, the recovery enviroment uses 32 bit drivers.

When you went to make a custom disk, it told you that your network adapter (LAN) will not work unless you add a 32bit driver for it.  The miniport driver is unecessary but if you need to use a network connection you will need to add a 32bit driver for your network adapter.

If you find the CD inconvienient, you can run the recovery enviroment from the lights out restore.  But that also will be just like the CD, it will run in 32bit windows since it's a seperate operating system.

You can also run the recovery enviroment from a flash drive and it's much faster than a CD.

If you really wanted to I'm sure you could make a small bootable partition to run it from but it's basically going to be the same as running the lights out restore.

If I don't require network connection during the restore process, does LightOut Restore works on my case for restoring window 7 64 bit? and ignore the driver issue on network.  Once window 7 is restored, will the network's driver issue be gone under window 7 64-bit? I have tested it, I can access internet after restoring image from recovery disk.

Can I install LightOut Restore under window 7 64-bit now? and ignoring the network's driver issue, since I don't need to access network during the process on recovery.

After installing Lightout restore on window 7 64 bit, and restart window, I only see Window Boot Manager without seeing any LightOut restore menu.

Thanks everyone very much for suggestions

Re: Does Ghost 15 work under Window 7 64 bit?

After creating an image of Desktop hard drive, I attempt to restore that image to another identical laptop hard drive and the process fails with the following message:

-Cannot copy data from the recovery point to the destination.

--Error EBAB03EE: Operating System API 10004 failed.

Error 000003F0: An attempt was made to reference a token that does not exist

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I have posted (and so has Dave H) the drivers before for that Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection. I have to leave for work and don't have time to search for them until later today or tomorrow. Search the board for "82579V" and you should find them already extracted from the exe file and ready for you to use .

LOR and Ghost work fine for me on Windows 7 64-bit. You can also create a bootable UFD (USB Flash Drive)

Are you actually creating an image of a desktop HDD and trying to restore it to a laptop?  If so, I don't think you're going to get that to work.  For one thing,  you're going to have issues with drivers (video, sound card, etc.).
