Hello,
Backups not running after reinstall of NG SP 1 on Windows 7 Pro SP1.
This is the error:
-Cannot create the recovery point.
--Error EBAB0013: A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. CHECK failed, Computer::CreateImageFile: .\Computer.cpp(1453): guid != Guid() && sequence != 0xffffffff.
(UMI:V-0-3215-1005)
Will not run manually or by timer. I have seen a number of post on this with no real solutions.
Thanks
PS Logs just show this error, repeatedly.

Try running CHKDSK /R on both source and destination drives.

Thanks, will do. But are we on our own now? There is no official support for this product? I have it on a number of machines.

Yes there is still official support.
I recall a topic last week with the same error. It was because another program was trying to use the same volume shadow copy service. Do you have any other backup programs installed?

Hi,
Nothing else is running. I did the file sytems check. Is there no longer any rmote access help from Norton?
I removed an reinstalled.
BTW, this word verification is a royal pain. For each post?

I deleted the backup job and put a new one in, then got this:
Error EC8F1C50: Cannot create file backup for job: My Documents Backup.
Error E7B70005: Snapshot error Error EBAB03F1: Unspecified error.. (UMI:V-281-3215-7248)

As Dave said, a lot of times these errors are caused be a problem with the snapshot driver. If the issue is related to something else using the Ghost snapshot driver, you can often re-run the job immediately after it fails, and if will succeed the second time.
This latest error you got is related to a file and folder backup. Does the backups also fail during a system backup?

Yes, also fail. I tried to redo both profiles. I d o not normally use the file backup.

Has this ever worked? If so, what happened exactly when it stopped working?
A couple of suggestion...
1. Click START>RUN and types 'services.msc'. In the services console, right-mouse click on symsnap, and also on Symantec SymSnap service. The startup type should be set to 'automatic'. Click START on both to start the services, then try another backup.
2. Delete the current backup job and start a fresh backup job with a fresh base backup.
3. If that does not work, as a test, try backing up just the C:\ drive volume, or one of the other volumes. I want to see if this is related to a particular volume being backed up.

I have been testing this because it works intermittantly (manually). Incremental backup should be run daily with 3-month full backups.
I checked to verify that the two services are on and automatic (they are).
I deleted and restarted the job with the same results.
I am only backing up one volume (C:).
The only thing I can think of is I am also running Windows Home Server 2011 that also has a backup service... This has been running for months and in the log I can see the old Ghost backups worked 2 months ago. I actually had to restore this computer and had both backups to work with. Ghost restored faster, but Windows Server worked also.
At a loss.
