Error E7D1001E ??? Error 0000045D???

Hoi everybody.  I hope someone can help me.  I'm using several version of Norton Ghost, also Norton Ghost 9.0.  Lately when i try to make a backup i get the following message (in dutch): Fout E7D1001E: Het bestand kan niet worden gelezen. Fout 0000045D: Kan de opdracht niet uitvoeren door een fout in een I/O-apparaat.

(0xE7D1001E)

I try to translate: Error E7D1001E: The file can not be read.  Error 0000045D: Can not perform the task by an error in I/O supply.  (0xE7D1001E)

Can somebody give me some tips, so I can start backupping again?

Thanks already in advance.

Re: Error E7D1001E ??? Error 0000045D???

When does this error occur - during a backup? During a restore? From what I've read about error 0000045D on other sites, one user indicates that there might be errors on the disk or a lack of backup space. Is this the case? I would recommend running chkdsk and defragmenting your system as well. Also, any additional details about what you are doing when the error occurs is appreciated. Please be as detailed about backup jobs as possible. Thanks!

Re: Error E7D1001E ??? Error 0000045D???

Thanks a lot Tony for trying to help me.  This error occurs during a backup.  Ihave been running chkdsk and defragmenting but this does not help.  Everything looks normal when i am setting up the backup.  And then at the end every time i get this error message.

Hope to hear from you

Sorr Tony,

i forgot to tell you that the "error screen" shows up at the end of the backup.  I can do a perfect setup and i can see "Norton" backking up by the 0 and 1.  ANd then when you think: oké now it's right, i get the errorscreen.

Hop that this is useful to you.

I found one other thread about it in an other forum. I think running a chkdsk sounds like good advice. Link:
