GHOST14.0. First time user of any backup software (always manually backed up files). So probably a stupid question.
I cannot create custom SRD. I go to Tasks>CreateRecoveryDisk>next>D:\ Then I get: "Invalid SRD location specified, Please specify a valid path to a Symantec Recovery Disk"
WIN XP Professional V5.1 SP3
Dell Precision T3400
I found this solution, http://community.norton.com/norton/board/message?b
but this cannot possibly be the only solution, is it?

Not a stupid question at all.
The option under Tasks/Create Recovery Disk/ is designed to allow you to create an SRD containing updated drivers for your specific recovery environment. This is why you should plug in all your hardware you'll need in order to restore when using this option.
Here's the part that's unintuitive. You need an SRD to create an SRD. I'm not sure why, but just stick your Ghost CD into the drive when it asks for the Symantec Recovery Disk location. It will use this, plus any drivers for hardware you have to create a new SRD image and will ask you for a writeable disk in a following step.
Hope this helps.
