Ghost 10 creates unexpected full recovery point

First of all, for you Norton employees reading this forum: it's absurd that I buy products from Symantec and try to post in their message boards, only to find out that there are separate forums for "Norton" products, and that my login for the Symantec forums won't work here.  It's confusing enough to find that the "Ghost" name is used by both Norton and Symantec.  Isn't it one company?  Hasn't it been one company for some time?  Please act like one company.

Here is my problem that I would appreciate a knowledgeable comment on (post moved from the Symantec GSS forum):

I've used Ghost 10 for two years now doing simple nightly incremental backups and monthly full backups of my system/user disk to a dedicated backup disk, both on the IDE channel.  New recovery points (incremental) have been created each night, and a new set (full backup) started each month on the first full day of the month.
A few days ago (June 19/20), Ghost created a new recovery point set (full backup) on its own.  Then the next night did a recovery point (incremental) but then the second night (June 21/22) again created a new recovery point set (full backup).  This is a problem because (a) the new set takes 10-12 hours to run, which interrupts my work, and (b) it isn't supposed to do that.
Any thoughts on why, and how to fix it?  I've checked the backup schedules from within Ghost and it is set to create new recovery sets monthly and new recovery points nightly, which is what it's been doing correctly for two years.  No new software installed, other than MS updates on 6/17 (so Ghost ran correctly two times after those updates).  (Update: since then, Ghost has run as expected, i.e., only recovery points (incremental), not full recovery point sets.)

Re: Ghost 10 creates unexpected full recovery point

Please let us know if this happens again. It is very unusual; I have not heard of Ghost 10 creating its own recovery point job. Thanks!
