Ghost 14 - Cannot convert existing recovery point to virtual disk

Hello all,

 

I am running Windows XP SP3 with Ghost 14 (14.0.4.30167). I have been taking successful full disk backups for some time now using an external Western Digityal Passport drive, but when I attempt to copy a recovery point to either a .vhd or a .vmdk, I get the following error:

 

-Cannot convert image file.
--Error EBAB03EE: Operating System API [RegistryOperations::GetRegistryHandle]  RegOpenKeyExW( TARGET_HIVE_SYSTEM\\Control\Class\{4D36E966-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}, ENUMERATE_MODE|WRITE_MODE ) failed.
---Error EBAB03F1: The system cannot find the file specified.

 

I have tried creating the VM on the local C:\ drive with the same error.

 

Neither local Ghost Help nor Online KB is providing much feedback; any thoughts would be appreciated!

Try booting from the Recovery Disk within VMWare and do a restore of the image from within VMWare.
