gkg,
You have 3 images on the external HD. What is the size of each image?
What did each partition do on the original HD?
Can you verify each image from the Ghost recovery CD? All OK?

It's about 5 months since I started this. Attempting to recover my computer (Toshiba laptop, XP SP3). Using a custom recovery disk. Backup is on a WD Passport USB drive. When attempting recovery, "Invalid" shows under both Drive and Target. But i am able to see files in "Recover Files" mode. Both drives are Hitachi. Original is 160 GB, new one is 320 GB. Alredy tried chkdsk -- no errors. HELP!
I might be misunderstanding your problem, but if you are creating an image of your internal hard drive and saving it to an external hard drive, then replacing the internal hard drive and attempting to restore the image on the external drive to the new drive, I have the same "invalid" issue. I have always assumed that it had something to do with the fact that the the two drives use to create the image have changed, i.e. different drive in the laptop. What I do is delete everything marked "Invalid", then use "Browse" to navigate over to the external drive and load the image(s) I want to restore. Check "Set Drive Active" for the boot partition, and start the restore. Now, there are other issues that can cause an unsuccessful restore, but I'm just addressing the "Invalid" issue.
It isn't really necessary to delete the things marked as "Invalid" because after you load the images as described above, you have to check the image(s) you want to restore. I just delete the "invalid" things to reduce the clutter.
It's entirely possible that I have misunderstood your issue, but it sounded like something I've encountered. If Brian makes other suggestions, I strongly advise you to follow his advice since he knows far more about Ghost than I do.
