Hi DHS13,
Welcome to the forum. What is your OS and SP level to include 32 or 64 bit?
Can you be more specific with your question? Are you referring to file and folder backup or image backup (backup my computer)?
If you are referring to image backup, there is no way to exclude a folder as it is a sector based backup and is intended to back up the entire partition. The files excluded by Ghost automatically are the pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys.
If you are referring to file and folder backup Ghost does this mainly by file type. However you can manually add directories by editing the file and folder backup job and then either selecting or not selecting subfolders. You can then specify types of files to back up within those directories.
If you can be more specific about what you want to do I can guide you further.
Hope this helps.

WIndows 7 - ultimate 64
I want to exclude 2 folders.
Why doesn't Ghost allow the user to exclude folders?

I am writing this from my iPhone which is difficult to do. When I get home from work I will expand more on this.
Again are we talking about file and folder or image backup? Image backup does not allow this because the whole idea is to be able to recover your system. If you could exclude folders it would be very easy to make your sys unrecoverable. This can be accomplished for file and folder, so please confirm which backup type.02-10-2010 08:09 PM
Hi DHS13,
As I mentioned I really need to know which backup type you are referring to. The fact that you cannot exclude folders for image backups is for a good reason.
For file and folder backups you should be able to accomplish what you desire.

Hi Dhs13,
How are things going? Are there any other questions I can address?
Thanks
