I'm trying to restore a full backup and I keep getting an error message telling me that the network path cannot be found.
I followed a set of instructions for Ghost 14 that outlines a step by step procedure to type in the exact path to the backup sv2i file but I keep getting the same error.
From what I can see the network card is not being seen. I've already enabled "My Networking Services".
What am I missing?

techgy,
Are these the instructions?
Boot from Ghost 15 CD
click on the time and adjust zone
click Network
Start my Networking Services
Map a Network Drive
accept Z:
don't click Browse
type in your \\remotecomputername\share (the folder must have been previously Shared)
((Can use \\IP address instead of \\remotecomputername. Can use \D$ instead of \share)
username and password
You will see this error ("A specified login session does not exist. It may already have been terminated." )
click OK and then click Connect using a different username and password. Then enter your same username and password
you should see Successfully mapped network drive
((If you want to create more mapped network drives you won't be asked for username/password again))
on main screen click Recover
Recover My Computer
you will probably get a message about no recovery points
in the View by.. select Filename
click Browse
double click Computer
scroll down to Network location
double click Z:
etc

Yes, for the most part. Except for the entry of the network path it states that I should be entering a username and password, but where? I never get an error message except for one that says that the network path cannot be found.

What are you entering for...
\\remotecomputername\share

I just noticed that after clicking (a second time) "Start My Networking Services", following the message that tells me that it's already running, I get an error message that says "Could not find network adapters".

\\server\d\fhbackup\famhist01_sv2i
The actual name of the box that has the backup image is "server"

That won't work. You can only use two "words". Don't add the sv2i file.
eg
\\server\mybackup
"mybackup" would be a shared folder on the remote computer that contains your v2i sv2i).

Open a command prompt and type: ipconfig /all
Does it show a proper IP address for your network?
You can also try: ping server
or: ping (server IP address).
If the ipconfig does not show an IP address and the "network" has been started then it's a driver problem.
If you list the network card of the system I may be able to find it for you. (The system using the recovery disk).

I've tried all combinations of the network path but none work.
I'll take another look at this issue tomorrow after work. The pc I'm trying to restore is at our church and i'm at home at present - so tomorrow afternoon :)
I'll also check the ipconfig issue to see if the network is present.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll post again tomorrow afternoon.
