(Ghost 15 Version 15.0.1.36526) In addition to the USB3.0 problems (SRD works fine using USB2.0 ports), I note that the Recovery Points do not show up in the Tools --> Manage Backup Destination. The status correctly shows the recovery points but nothing shows up in Tools --> Manage Backup Desitnation --> Recovery Point Sets display. Plugging the backup USB 3.0 drive into a USB 2.0 port does nothing either. When I manually delete the task and the data on the backup drive, Ghost still remembers the old backup and will later ask if you want to remove the history of the old backup recovery point. At times I like to start fresh by deleting the old backup data and thus currently I can't easily do this in Ghost 15.
Off topic - Since the USB 3.0 backups run in 8 minutes whereas it took about 2 hours using USB 2.0 drives, sure wish Norton would add the necessary drivers to the Ghost 15 SRD (recovery disk creation). I really hate having to go back to USB 2.0

Hi,
Have you considered making a custom recovery disk and adding the USB 3.x drivers to it so that you can continue using that feature?
Just a thought

Yes I have considered making an SRD. Reviewed the Device Manger USB devices and looked like the Intel 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller were the USB 3.0 devices but couldn't find any drivers on the Intel driver software web resource page after many minutes engaged in looking. So I am not so sure if Intel chipset is the USB 3.0 source but for now I will have to use the USB 2.0 port if I ever have to recover the entire system from the backups. I haven' had to do that since the days of Windows 95.
The real problem of the post was that the recovery points are not displayed in Ghost 15 under the Tools menu.

The Ghost recovery disk is based in Microsoft WinPE 2.1, which does not have support for USB 3.0 in it, so adding the drivers will not work. You can backup up to USB 3.0, as you found, but restoring from the SRD will use USB 2.0, as long as said USB drive is USB 2.0 backward compatible. Most are as I have found.
As far as the backup destination not being seen, try creating a whole new job and deleting the old job. If this does not work, we'll want to get a PARTINTO.TXT from ya.
If you type "service" in start and stop the "Norton Ghost Service" use explorer and search in C\ProgramData\Symantec\Norton Ghost\History and do the same for Schedule. Look for all the .pqh files and delete all of them.
That will delete all history and schedules. You won't loose any backups by doing this and after starting up the Norton Ghost service again or rebooting you can then setup new schedules, and the history will start from scratch.

Geoff,
Red won't mind me stepping in, he is about 6 hours behind us in the USA.

Again it is not that the backup destinatin is not being seen, it is that the recovery points are not displayed in the Tools section which means I can't easily delete the 'old' backup. But it looks like these suggestions will take care of this problem since I have deleted and then recreated a new task which got me back to a fresh sheet of paper although Ghost still remembered the old backup and would ask me if I wanted to delete the history of the old backup. Thanks for the insight.
