In the Status tab my recovery points have a blue question mark and are reported "unavailable".  How do I fix this?

Is the drive plugged in and awake?

Yes, drive remains on.  New WD 3TB on a new Dell XPS, USB 3.0, Win 7.  The checked recovery points in the status tab actually turned to question marks as I was looking at them.

My guess is Ghost doesn't like the 3TB part. I don't think Ghost likes partitions that are bigger then 2TB. Maybe because it's a GPT disc instead of MBR. I doubt you will be able to recover from it using the SRD.

First, what is GPT and MBR?  My next step will be to go back to my old 500 GB external, USB 2.0 and see if the recovery points remain visible and accessible with the recovery disk.

GPT is used on partitions that are bigger than 2TB. I do not have any experience with GPT partitions, so I cannot say much about them. I don't think most software is really ready for disk sizes so big. Hopefully Ghost 16 will be ready for USB 3 and these super sized harddrives.

My understanding is HDs larger than 2 TB need GPT. HDs of this size can't have MBR partitioning. The GPT partitions can be any size from a few MB to a few TB. You can have a small HD as a GPT disk if you want.

My only practical experience is with a 40 GB HD that is a GPT disk and has multiple data partitions (test situation). The partitions aren't seen by WinXP, only by Win7. Ghost 15 can use these partitions to write images.
