Ghost 15 does not see my USB external hard drive.
I have tried connecting the same drive firewire and still no good.
Win 7 latest edition.
I have tried some restarts.
The USB drive is easily accessible in My Computer.
I want to copy my internal drive but Ghost does not see my USB hard drive.
I can add this USB drive as a BackUp drive in Ghost 15 but I do not want to do a backup.

Hi,
Tell us a bit more about this USB drive - size, USB2.x or 3.x, format, etc. just the basics.
Thanks

500GB 5400rpm
It is a 2.5" drive in a case and has it's own power supply connected.
Hitachi brand drive inside SATA.

Dean,
Can you run partinfo.exe from C:\Program Files\Norton Ghost\Utility. Partinfo.txt will be created in the same folder. Please post partinfo.txt as an attachment.

Dean,
You have GPT partitions on the external HD and Ghost doesn't like them (usually). I'd make it a MBR HD. I can't see any advantages in GPT partitions on a 500 GB external HD.

For many reasons, we don't recommend Ghost Copy Drive to a USB external HD. There's a good chance the copy won't boot owing to geometry issues. In addition, you must not copy to a partition with a drive letter. The copy definitely won't load into Windows due to drive letter issues.

I am using Win 7 to format the drive. Can I make it MBR?
I don't see the option in Computer Management to make it MBR...?
(The drive was probably first intialized on a Mac.)
