Hi. I am using the latest version of Norton Ghost 15, with my new HP that has Windows 7 Home bit 64 version. I can make a backup of my drive, and restore in Windows, but if I try to restore my image using the Symantec Recovery disc, the computer doesn't see my external drive. After spending hours with Symantec and HP tech support, I finally tried to make a recovery disc and saw this message:"symantec Recovery disk can only use 32 bit drivers." Does this mean that the program won't work in the 64 bit version of Windows 7 because I assume my USB port is a 64bit driver? Any help would be appreciated.

It works fine with 64-bit Windows. The RECOVERY ENVIRONMENT is based in Windows PE 32-bit. You need 32-bit Vista based drivers for the Recovery Environment.
Is this by chance a USB 3 drive?
If so, Win PE doesn't support USB 3. It should shift to USB 2. If not try a different USB port or try a USB 2 cable. I've read about 50/50 success getting USB 3 working in Win PE.

Thank you. I will try that. I tried two of my four usb hubs, but will look at manual to find the usb 2.0.

I wouldn't use a hub. Plug the USB drive directly to the PC.

Thank you for your responses. I found the port that was a dedicated usb 2.0 on my computer, and voila, I can now see my recovery sets when I try to recover my computer from the Symantec Recovery Disc. Wish I had asked the "Community" before I spent 3 hours with Symantec. I so appreciate the help!
