weq92f,
You mustn't have the latest version. Build 793 can image a NTFS partition and write the image to a NTFS partition. It is not 2048 sector aware so you may have to do a BCD edit if you restore a Win7 partition to unallocated space as a legacy cylinder aligned partition will be created. Ghost 2003 users prefer "generic" entries in the BCD store to get around this issue.
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} device boot
bcdedit /set {default} device boot
bcdedit /set {default} osdevice boot
bcdedit /set {memdiag} device boot

Decided to take a couple images of my Linux partitions using the Windows 7 Runtime version of Ghost: Onetime w/default; and Ontime where I edited the "Name:" dialogue by adding drive letters X, Y and Z to the three "Hidden" partitions.
This after attempting to assign drive letters to the 3 Linux partitions using a few different tools with no success....??
Booted the Ghost world, navigated to these new images and still get the same Error from the GUI:
Error E0BC0002: Object ~ not found
... this error pops up each time the image is selected in a Windows pop up alert window.
I cannot find a GUI option to restore these images. Ghost refuses to allow Hidden partitions to be restored????
I did manage to receive this error in the " Edit Target Drive and Options" screen:
Target drive: Invalid
Error EC950006: the destination is not valid
Error EC950005: The recovery point is not valid.
... Which prevented me from continuing in the "Recovery My Computer" Wizard. This is not right.
How is it possible to take images of non-Windows partitions? How? I believe I've tried all the methods available in the GUI and none of them allow restore of the data. What am I missing?

Ok, well, this must be a bug then because I can see the image with the GUI and verify it with the GUI, yet if I attempt to restore it, I get total failure.
I go to "Recovery My Computer" in the opening screen, click that and... BOOM:
Error E0BC0002: Object ~ not found.
Click OK, then I get the recovery point list, containing the most recent images. Select the first one ( a hidden drive ), then select the Unallocated space, click OK, then I get...
Target drive: Invalid
Error EC950006: The destination is not valid.
Error EC950005: The recovery point is not valid.
Whats up with that?
The other images restored in the same manner without error ( i.e.: C:\, SYSTEM, RECOVERY ).
Thanks,

When your using Ghost in Windows 7, go to View > Show Hidden Drives.
Also, I don't think it supports Ext4
From the manual page 20:
Norton Ghost supports the following file systems:
■ FAT16, FAT16X
■ FAT32, FAT32X
■ NTFS
■ GUID Partition Table (GPT)
■ Dynamic disks
■ Linux Ext2, Linux Ext3
■ Linux swap partitions
