Thanks for the response.  I used Disk Management to delete the partition in the external drive.  Ghost 15 is now doing a drive copy.  If this doesnot work I will start a new thread.  Thxs again

Thing are working perfectly with my new HD installed in my Lenovo T61 laptop. 

1. I used Disk Management in Windows7 to delete to partition in my new HD which was installed in a USB enclosure.

2. Used Ghost 15's "Copy My Hard Drive" (under the Tools menu) to clone my old HD.  Setting used are as follows:

Check source for file system errors
Check destination for file system errors
Resize drive to fill unallocated space (ONLY if you want to)
Set drive active (for booting OS)
DON'T SELECT Disable SmartSector copying
DON'T SELECT Ignore bad sectors during copy
Copy MBR
Destination partition type : Primary
Drive letter : None

3. Once Ghost completed the copy I simply mounted the new HD in my laptop and it booted right up and is working perfectly.

hi, thx for exciting news you have there. Because I have two partotions on the old HDD, one for windows7 OS, one for recovery, so I wonder how you did with the recovery partition, did you copy it over to the new HDD as well, if you did, how did you do that?

Use the same settings as last time. Your only mistake was to not copy into unallocated space. Post a screenshot of Disk Management if you are still confused.

With the old HD mounted in the USB enclosure I have not been able to copy the Recovery Partitiion back onto the new HD.  Using the same settings to copy to the unallocated area of the new HD I get a "Cannot complete copy of Service V002".  In the error box details is;  "An attempt was made to reference a token that does not exist".  If anybody has any ideas let me know.

Before moving on to other things I just noticed in Disk Management my new HD does show a Healthy Recovery Partition of the same size as on the old HD.
