Firstly apologies, my knowledge of Ghost is next to nil.I am using version 15.
I am trying to recover files from a backup. This backup was done to an external drive three months ago; in that time the PC from which the files were backed up had been formatted.
I suspect I'm missing a file. I have i) an .s2vi file, and ii) the File Backup Data folder with folders and and .fbf files within.
I have tried recovering via Recovery Point Browser but it doesnt see the s2vi file - unless I choose "system," in which case no recovery points are given.
I have tried "Import Destination Backup" on folders within the File backup Data folder, and then searched *.* and found my files which I am able to restore. However, the File Backup Data folder is 150 GB (one version) with about 400 folders within.
o go through each one individually is extremely time consuming - Ghost takes a long time processing each folder.
Am I missing something obvious? If not is there a way to automate this process?
Your help is greatly appreciated!
Richard.

Richard,
Can you find a .v2i file? It is the image (recovery point).

THanks!
No .v2i file - I can't think why, this HDD was used solely for the purpose of ghost backups. There's a v2i file for a DIFFERENT drive which I was able to recover fine, but none for this backed up drive.
Also, when recovering via the import destination method described above, though the folder structure is displayed, on recovering the files this folder structure is lost exacerbating the difficulty of restoring this way.

Maybe you did a Files and Folders backup and not an image...

Thanks for your help!
Files & Folder backup does sound right. So am I trying to recover the files in the correct manner? If so, I still don't understand why my folder structure is not being recovered.

As far as I know, it does not preserve the folder structure.
Thats one of the many reasons why I don't use it.
