Is Norton Utilities 15 reliable?

I'm curious as to why there is no information available for Norton Utilities 15 such as quck fixes or even a manual?  I am using a trail version of it and have had numerous problems on different computers.

On one computer I had to transfer all files from my D, E, and F drives, do a low level format before Norton Utilities 15 would allow me to optimize them.

I'm also now being told by Norton Utilities 15 that 2 of my computers have Solid State Drives or Flash Drives and asks me if I want to continue on the boot optimization.  Neither computer has a Solid State Drive or Flash Drive.

Lastly I'm not even able to run Smart Update to update to 15.0.0.124 from 15.0.0.122 on my laptop.

Where is any good support for this product?  I'm surprised that it is still available for purchase on Symantec website.  Personally I don't think I would ever purchase this product after all the problems I have experienced with it.

Anybody else having similar problems with this software?

I got the NU 14, I bought it some years ago. There is no support, no update, and thatswhy I do not continue upgrading.

It's interesting, when I run it, it cleans from disks some IE9 files, on the contrary I do not use IE anyway.

I suppose Norton 360 does similar functions, and they do not want to advertise that they have an income also from this one.

That's all.

Re: Is Norton Utilities 15 reliable?

I'm becoming very frustrated with Nortons.  Why create software and supply no support unless you want to pay?  I haven't even purchased the software yet (30 day trial) and to even get any type of support I have to pay money.  Screwballs!  I have Norton 360 also and I may not renew it this year when it comes up for renewal.

There were some fixes in build 124 that may address the message you're seeing.  What is the problem you're seeing when trying to update to build 124?

As to the manual, open the main UI > Click Help > Click QuickStart Guide > Scroll down and click "Where can I access the complete Online Help".

Could you clarify the support comment?

For the SSD or Flash Drive message, what does msinfo or device manager display with respect to your drives?  Could you provide a screenshot of the message?  Also, what versions of Windows do you have on these?  Are they 32 or 64 bit versions of WIndows?
