I am receiving LU1803 following a reinstall of Ghost 14
after receiving a message from a Norton product to run the Norton Removal Tool, I was instructed to reinstall / install ALL Norton products on my computer. I successfully reinstalled / installed NIS2010. I had problems reinstalling / installing Ghost 14. I contacted support for help in reinstalling Ghost 14. initially support had problems remotely reinstalling Ghost 14. Support was finally successful in remotely installing Ghost 14.5. subsequent to the install of Ghost 14, I receive LU1803 error message when attempting to run Live Update from Ghost. Live update that is run from NIS2010 runs successfully, but does not recognize Ghost. I have found that the LU process that runs from NIS2010 is NOT the same as the LU process that runs from Ghost.
System: win vista home premium 32 bit
NIS2010 (the Live UPdate process that came with NIS runs OK, but does not recognize Ghost)
Ghost 220.127.116.11587 & LU 18.104.22.168 (came with this reinstall)
I have have already tried the support procedure (2002071909270613) to reinstall Live Update, with NO JOY. this procedure is a 2 step procedure. Step 1, run Auto Fix tool to delete LU files. step 2, run auto fix tool to reinstall Live Update. each step should install ActiveX and then runs its process. in both steps, I do not receive a warning that it wants to install ActiveX. the process just sits there doing nothing.
I have also tried to uninstall Live Update from windows, prior to running the Norton procedure. I receive a message that there are currently using Live Update and removing LU could cause problems.
Any ideas on getting this resolved ?? my next step will be to contact support.
