NAV 2004-Live Update won't work, been using Intelligent Updater, subscribed to definitions

First of all, hello. As you can see by the subject, that's the problem. Periodically, when Live Update was turned on, I would get error messages (sorry, I didn't make a note of them) to the effect that LU wasn't working. We have a current subscription for virus definitions. My past experience with software tells me I need to reinstall NAV 2004 to get the LU working again, but I'm afraid this is going to cause the subscription status to disappear, requiring me to pay for them again (my wife will not be amused). Am I right in presuming reinstallation will work, and if so, how do I protect our current subscription status from disappearing?

Thanks, all

What version of Windows are you using.

Have you checked whether NAV2004 is compatible with that version?

Does your version include the Norton Account link and if so did you use it when you first installed so that there is a record of your current status tucked away in it? I've found that useful since when reinstalling the Norton application will go there and pick up the KEY without you having to enter it via the keyboard.

Are you sure you still have NSV 2004? I thought that when you bought a renewal subscription it updated the application to the current one but I may have misunderstood. But I'm pretty certain that you have the right to upgrade to the current one although I don't know how far back in time that goes.

Hang on for one of the Norton Staffers who should be able to clear this up for you. The 2008 versions are much better "engineered" than earlier ones, even than 2007.
