There was a recent thread that is now apparently locked to reply about disk space being lost to NPE TraceSessionBoot.etl . I believe I am having the same problem... this is by far the biggest file on my computer (3,500,000 kb). Using Windows XP Media Center. I start fresh with a re-boot, and in a day or so end up with zero disk space. Re-boot clears it again. So I'm guessing this, and maybe the associated TraceinProgress.etl are the culprits.
There was a solution in the previous thread about removing a registry entry... which is beyond me. Could you explain how to do this, typing very slowly for the learning impaired? I don't know about registry editing to accomplish what you have laid out in the previous thread. TIA...

Well, never mind. Re-loaded the NPE, and this time it seems to operate correctly.... at least it isn't sucking the life out of my computer, anyway.
