NRT and NRNR and 2013 products

Has anyone got the NRT and NRNR to work with 2013 products.

When I tried, it gave a message that it was not compatible with 2013 products.

What are we supposed to use to reinstall, given the issues with 2013?

Hi Peterweb,

Thanks for the info! Are you still experiencing the issue with NRT and NRNR tools? If Yes, Would it be possible for you to get the screenshot of the error that you get when you try to run NRT and NRNR tools?

Hi Preetha

I got the NRT to run with no errors. I removed NIS 2013 and then installed NIS 2012 for this test. I had originally upgraded 2012 to 2013.

But I have a question.

When I run the NRT, is it not supposed to remove all data and settings from my computer regarding my NIS installation?

In my case it retained a product key, so I did not have to activate, and the old local vault for Identity Safe.  I had moved my ID safe online with 2013, which had made my local vault totally unavailable. Now it is back without any restoring on my part.

I was not able to run the NRNR. I go the following error.

NRNR fail on 2013 product.JPG

Let me know if there is anything else you would like me to check.

If it really did remove everything, people could just reinstall it every month and never have to buy it.

I see what you are saying.

I guess I just thought it removed more than it did. This is the first time I used either of these tools.

Should the NRT not have removed Identity Safe data?

It also did not pick up the correct product key. I had renewed with another key.

Peter,

Did it not give the option of saving personal data or making a clean install. Perhaps asking if you are going to reinstall a Norton product?

No options given. Are options usually given with the NRT? Maybe this was because it was a 2013 product I was uninstalling?

As noted, the NRNR did not work at all with NIS 2013.

This is the first time I have used either of these tools.

Re: NRT and NRNR and 2013 products

I tried using the NRT on NIS 2013 on my WIndows 8 testbed when I had the odd situation that NIS was there and working but did not appear in uninstall listing for WIndows, CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller .......

I thought it did ask me if I wanted a clean uninstall .... in fact I thought it started with a the normal Windows uninstall which does give that option and then went on.

But it was such a messed up installation that who knows what was going on .....
