I have upgraded from norton 360 v1 to v2. I restarted vista and the configaration wizard flashs on for a second after that 360 will not run. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but it's still doing to same thing. I have an norton icon in the tray but cannot access the program that way. I have removed norton 360 with the removal tool. installed norton 360 v1 again that has stopped working as well. Removed all norton products from my computer reinstalled Norton 360 v2 again. The same problem is happening.
I cannot start 360. and the config wizard will not start to finish installing norton 360 v2.

Hi Mel
I nuke'd 360 as you said, Reinstalled 360v1 at restart of os The config wizard flashed for 1 second then nothing :(.
I cannot run 360, I have the icons on the desktop the program is installed but not running.
One thing is I downloaded 360v2 the size of the file is 250ish mb. The v1 is around 74mb. ?

The file I downloaded for N360V2 was 76,220KB and named N360S200.exe
I got this from the link in the document on reinstalling N360 after using the Norton Removal Tool so it should be complete.

To Symantec, I have been a good customer to you since windows 95 days. This is the first major problem with your software I have seen. I have been trying to work with your tech support to fix it (via email) for 1 week. I am now going to remove all norton software from my computer and move to CA.
good luck everyone !

hi decker... sorry the nuke and pave didn't do it. i suspect that you will find no joy with another vendor, however, as you are clearly having a bad interaction with some other app or, perhaps, threat. if you find that is true and still looking for a solution, i'd recommend running norton security scan in safe mode (download and install in normal mode first to freshen defs, then reboot in safe).
i am curious about the size of the download you mentioned... i'm not sure if this is representative of file system level corruption, but its not right. hopefully ca can help get it figured out for you.
best of luck
