Welcome,
I don't know. My best guess is that when the protocol is released/active/etc then there will be a short delay for final tests and then Norton will release whatever is necessary to be compatible. The rule of unintended consequences always gets me when I make statements/promises when I have no control over them. ![]()
This may not help but like the question 'will Norton be compatible with windows 9?' we'll just have to wait and see.

This topic has been discussed the last few days with other Comcast experts (who are much more knowledgeable in this area than I am) and it is my understanding that in order for things to work properly (once the total swtichover to IPV6 is made, in my case with Comcast), I will need upgraded service to DCSOIS3, a D3 modem and a IPV6 capable router (be it wireless or ethernet as I use).
We've been referred to this link by Comcast:

Perhaps those of you more knowledgeable than me can put it all in perspective.

Hi jamcat22,
Norton ConnectSafe (Norton DNS) does resolve AAAA (IPv6) records, but we don't listen over v6 transit.
Thanks,
Katie

Since comcast released IP/v6, my norton connectsafe stopped working. When I
go to check it, it says I am not using norton connectsafe.
I tried all of the dsn addresses they have posted, no luck.
I am using an Arris Modem TM722.
Is there something else I need to do?

Hi bjsdad,
The introduction of IPv6 should not be causing any DNS issues. We still live in an IPv4 world and this protocol will continue to be supported by ISPs and all other internet-related services. I don't think your issue is related to IPv6. Have you tried reverting back to your ISP's DNS servers to see if the issue is specific to Norton?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. What I did was remove the NortonDNS addresses and clicked the
button to get the DSN Server addresses automatically. Is this what you are referring too? If so, I have no problems dooing this.

And when you enter the Norton DNS addresses and deselect the automatic option, you can't connect? Are you using a router? If so, are any DNS addresses entered in the router?

No router.
When I enter any of the Norton DSN servers, I connect fine to the internet. What is not working is the
filtering, and when I go to Test Norton Connect Safe", I get the following message even those I am using
the NortonDNS server addresses ..... "Your computer is not currently using Norton DNS".
The same is true for OpenDNS as far as the filtering.

Just to be sure we are on the same page: Open DNS uses a different approach to filtering than does Norton DNS. Norton actually requires the use of different DNS addresses, depending on the filtering you desire, Are you entering the correct filter-specific DNS addresses as mentioned here?:
