I'm thinking of switching from acronis to ghost. I'm running windows 7 64 bit. I assume you can back up to an external hard drive or disks? I've been with acronis since TI 7 but there latest version 2010 on win 7 64 bit is a complete dog.

Ghost 15 works great with Win7 x64 and yes, you can backup to external HDDs or to DVDs.

Question, can I down load the trail and use it and when my box version gets here just put the key from it into the trail and activate it? Is the trail a full version that fully operates in all modes?

The trial version does not include the Symantec Recovery Disk, but otherwise it's the full package. You'll be able create backups and restore files, but you won't be able to do a disaster recovery of your system drive.

When your boxed version arrives, you can enter the product key from that. The installation CD is also the SRD.
