After my frustrations with Windows Backup and the lack of a good incremental system, I purchased Norton Ghost 15. My frustrations continue because when it goes to doing a My Documents backup, it always hangs at 5% saying "Calculating Remaining Time." I've searched the forums some but have yet to find a solution.

Windows 7 64-Bit

8 GB RAM

Any thoughts?

It sounds like you are using File and Folder Backup. Most of the users on this forum do not use that, but recommend Backup My Computer instead. This creates an image of an entire partition instead of just certain files. It is much easier to recover files from too.

Have a look at THIS POST by Allen M. It explains the pros and cons of each type of backup.

The only way I found around this is to DELETE ghost and reinstall. Then it hangs again after I run a full drive backup. Win XP pro 32 bit. I have not had any problem with ghost on my win 7 home premium 64 bit laptop.
