Is ther a way to remove the annoying right-click context menu Item created by Norton Ghost 15.
I have yet to discover any use for this annoying context menu item and would like to remove it.
I have searched for the 'show versions' text using both Regedit and Regseeker and have been unable to locate a regsitry key for the item and it is apparently somehow hidden.
I hate it when software adds context items without giving you a choice if you want it added.
Thanks

This appently does not work for me either. Click it, nothing happens.
EDIT: I found a way to get rid of it.
Download File Menu Tools from http://www.lopesoft.com/en/.
Run the program and choose Commands of other applications.
Find and uncheck All file types \ V2iContextMenu Class and Folder \ V2iContextMenu Class
Hit the green checkmark. Done Gone for me!
OR
Backup, then delete these 4 registry keys...
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\{0
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandle
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\Cont
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\ShellEx

Remove Show Versions from context menu..
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\{0BCE32B2-DA1B-41D7-A71F-C02A7D633CE5}] [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\ShellEx\ContextMenuHand lers\{0BCE32B2-DA1B-41D7-A71F-C02A7D633CE5}] [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\Co ntextMenuHandlers\{0BCE32B2-DA1B-41D7-A71F-C02A7D6 33CE5}] [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\Shell Ex\ContextMenuHandlers\{0BCE32B2-DA1B-41D7-A71F-C0 2A7D633CE5}]
Add Show Versions back to context menu...
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\{ 0BCE32B2-DA1B-41D7-A71F-C02A7D633CE5}]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandl ers\{0BCE32B2-DA1B-41D7-A71F-C02A7D633CE5}]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\Con textMenuHandlers\{0BCE32B2-DA1B-41D7-A71F-C02A7D63 3CE5}]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\ShellE x\ContextMenuHandlers\{0BCE32B2-DA1B-41D7-A71F-C02 A7D633CE5}]
Copy code to notepad.
Save as .reg file.
Merge to registry.

Hi jxl0928,
The 'show versions' context menu is only meaningful if you do file and folder backups. If you do only image backups (which is what I do) then it has no meaning at all. ![]()
Best wishes.

Thanks Allen. I guess that's why it doesn't work for me. I only use Ghost for imaging the whole drive.

Hi Red,
Not to worry, I do only image backups as well. The only reason I know what that context menu choice is for is because I *test* F&F backups so I can be able to answer questions on the forum here. ![]()
Even testing F&F backup is quite painful I might add. ![]()
Best wishes.
