Ron,
You're not authorized to do my bogus double click trick
. I had to spend a considerable amount of time and cheese to train my mouse to do that.
Now I have a mouse that can't stand cheese and won't perform tricks like that. It took a good cleaning of the lens and the body to make it think all was well. A clean pad completed the process.
This may not help but that type of activity is usually mouse related. If you can go through the process mouse free and it works you will confirm that the mouse is mousing you around.

Hehehe, I'm not using a mouse. <sorry> I'm using a laptop. Anyhow, I'll try again.

Ok, I tried again, but this time I made sure I didn't double click. And that gave me an error message saying that another instance was running. Couldn't see one on the taskbar, so I rebooted. Upon re-entering Windows, it automatically launched Norton Ghost and it ran okay. So, I guess the installation was completed despite the progress bar showing otherwise.
Thanks for your help.
