Norton Live Update issue

 Hi all.

I'm running Norton Sytemworks 2006 on Windows XP. I recently renewed my subscription (about two weeks ago), and since then I've been having issues with Live Update.

I kept getting messages that my hard drive is getting low in space, and today I discovered that the virus def folders here (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs) is about 35 GB, which is ridiculous. (And most of them seem to be temp files). Apparently, every time Live Update updates the virus definitions, it just adds a new file instead of, I dunno, replace the old one.

Sort of manually deleting everything in the virus def folder and run Live Update again, is there any way to fix this and keep it from happening again?

Thanks,

Christine

Re: Norton Live Update issue

Hi Chris

You can download and run the Norton Removal Tool which will remove the System Works completely from your Computer and then Reinstall it again. This will clear out the old Live Update Files from the Computer.
