I don't know about getting help in this section for my problem. It seems like most of the help or problems are about Ghost........

floplot,
Sorry that it has taken so long for anyone to get to you. I need to look at your event logs for Applications and System. To do this please go to Start | Administrative Tools | Event Viewer. Once there, right click on the Application in the left hand tree and select Save Events As... In the Save As window navigate to your desktop and name the file floplot_app and choose the type as CSV. Click save. Do the same for the System list in the left hand tree except name it floplot_sys .
In the upper right hand corner of the forum web interface is a little envelope. When it turns yellow you have a Private Message; click on it and it will take you to your PM interface. I will send you a message with my email address in it. Please send me the two log files you just saved in an email (attachments). I will get back as soon as possible.

I understand; if they are too large for your email, then you could right click and select clear the log. Then you could boot a few times over the next few days and send those logs. I just need to see what errors are going on in the system that are preventing the proper load / functions of the windows GUI and recycle bin.
I know they are pretty big logs; I planned on sorting and filtering them. If you are uncomfortable with sending these then don't. there should be Symantec employee's here tomorrow and maybe they know the magic fix that's not posted anywhere in public. I was just trying to not let someone be ignored.

I see the help has started although as delphinium says not that many of use NSW.
Perhaps you would tell what version of Windows you are using including Service Packs and whether 32 bit or 64 bit as well as the version ID of NSW that you are using -- the Version ID is in Help / About where it is in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn

Hi
I put that in the beginning of my post, but it's windows xp pro sp3, IE 7. It's System Works 12 standard edition.

Sorry I missed that -- I'm used to Capital Initials for titles so they catch the eye and with it all being one long paragraph ....
And I also asked:
<< .... as well as the version ID of NSW that you are using -- the Version ID is in Help / About where it is in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn
>>
People need to know this sort of information since versions differ and also I've had people swear they had NIS 2009 installed but when they gave the version ID it was 15.nn.nn.nnn and not 16.nn.nn.nnn .......
