Hi, All,
Just recently, when I Click on the Norton Utilities in the Start-Up Menu or the Icon on the Desktop, the Norton Product; the only way I can Open it is by Clicking on it in the Task Bar area of the computer (next to the Clock) N.U.s's Icon.

Weird. When you click on it, nothing happens? Any error messages?

Could you try the following:
Exit NU-> Right click on the NU icon and select 'properties'-> Select the 'Compatibility' tab-> make sure all the items are unchecked-> Ok, Run NU.
Also, are you running under administrator privileges?
Regards,
RR

Okay; something weird is going on. I earlier today Opened N.U.s via the Task Tray (Clock-area) Icon, and Close N.U.s. I then realised that the Icon was not in the Task Tray, so I Clicked on Start > N.U.s and the Norton Product Opens!
I then Closed N.U.s and Ran your Instructions, although, am not sure if N.U.s is meant to Open after I Click on "OK" or that is meant for me to Open N.U.s from where...?
Yes am Administrator. ;)

I just recreated your problem from that last description. Good catch!
It appears that when NU is running in the system tray, it can only be opened from the System Tray. If you open it from the system tray and "close" the application so that it is no longer running in the system tray, you can then open NU from the start menu or other icon.
Very weird behavior which i will report.

Hi, Robert,
Just wondering what's happening regarding this Issue?

Hi, Everyone,
Even although Norton Utilities 14 still does not Open when you Click on the Desktop icon, Version 14.5.0.116 does put the N.U. icon back in the System Tray once you Click on the "X" to Close the application from which N.U. 14 can be Opened easily.
