Re: Norton Utilities 2011 v.15

Did Symantec get rid of Norton System Doctor in their Norton Utilities?  I have a Windows XP Pro SP3 system with SystemWorks 2006 installed.  However, I cannot get System Doctor & Disk Doctor to work at all.  If I attempt to use either, they stay stuck in RAM and I must reboot to clear them out.  I think it's because I have 3 HDD's and so many partitions.

I am also using Symantec PartitionMagic 8.0 which still works correctly.  It's a shame Symantec stopped developing and selling PartitionMagic.  Symantec should sell the rights to PM to another company.  If anyone is interested, I found a replacement for PM which is Paragon Partition Manager 11 Pro.  Don't use any other partition manager or expect problems.

I also have a Windows 98SE system which I occasionally use.  The strange thing is, everything works correctly in 98SE.  System Doctor which I really like works and is an "auto-hide" bar on the bottom of the screen, the 98SE auto-hide Taskbar is on the top of the screen.  Disk Doctor and PartitionMagic 8.0 also work correctly in 98SE.

It's a shame I have lost so much functionality just because I'm using XP Pro and Symantec didn't update their software.

Hello Cypherdude!

SystemWorks has an updated version. Actually, it's not exactly an "updated" version, but it's a new suite similar to SystemWorks that does similar job. Norton Utilities is the replacement of SystemWorks and includes all the tools needed to optimize the system. Please see my reply here.

As for Partition Magic, you are right. Unfortunately there is no updated version of the program.
