I have a copy of Norton Utilities that i installed on my brothers PC because it was very slow. Installed it ok, did the registry cleaner, disk cleaner and registery defragmenter on it and restarted my brothers PC. After it restarted his antivirus program which is MacAfee Internet Security didnt seem to work. That has a utilities program on it too which we didnt know about.
Would having two utilities program or putting a Norton utilities program on a computer with a different antivirus/internet program not work properly causing the anti-virus to stop?
\would like some advice please? Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. The utiliies are run upon user demand so as long as you do not attempt running them at the same time, there should be no problems from that.
A couple of quesitons. What is your OS and SP level to include 32 or 64 bit? What version of Norton Utilities do you have? Please provide specific version from Help > About.
Do you have any other Anti virus, spyware or other real time software installed other than MacAfee?
Did you disable the AV protection in MacAfee while installing Norton Utilities?

Thanks for the reply Allen. As its my brothers computer i installed Norton Utilities on i have no idea about the technical details on his computer only its on Windows XP. The Norton Utilities is version 14.5 and the MacAfee was the newest one as he had just gone onto broadband and had it free with his provider in the package.
He has since uninstalled Norton and rebooted MacAfee and it seems to be okay.
