I am (or was) using the Norton Security Suite that comes bundled with Comcast. My OS is Windows 7 64.
After the Norton update on Nov 27 I began to experience random hanging in Windows Explorer and Firefox. The programs would hang when right clicking files in Windows Explorer or opening new tabs in Firefox. This did not occur right away but after few minutes upon starting my pc. When one program would hang it would affect the other. It would also then cause Internet Explorer to hang on startup and cause Norton to hang when trying to access its settings. However, it would have no affect on Google Chrome, which I installed after the problems began.
Norton did not detect any virus on my PC and I have ran a few other online virus and malware scanners which have found nothing as well. After, disabling all my startup programs did not work I decided to uninstall Norton and now everything runs perfectly. Thus, leading me to believe that the latest Norton update is the root of all my problems.
I am wondering if other people have the same problem and if there is a fix to this. Or is better to just go with another product?

I use norton 360 which is renamed by comcast as Norton Security suite, I don't see any of these issues you reported after the Nov 27 update.
If there was really an issue like that they might have got reported here the very next minute.
