Partition Magic 8.0 - Trouble identifying partitions on 160-GB x60s Lenovo laptop

Hello,

I installed product but it cannot identify two different 80-GB partitions that comprise my 160-GB disk.   I'm running XP-pro SP2 and these are NTFS partitions.

PM reports just one partition (approx 160-GB) that is BAD.

Any help for a newbie who appears DOA upon installation with this product?

Best regards,

F Joseph

If you can get to the partition info section of the program, see if that reports correctly.  Did you update the PM8 program with the latest patches?  As I recall there was an issue with really big disks at one time, and 160GB is really big when the program was first released, therefore, the patches and updates.

Hi,

Check if the harddrive is Basic or Dynamic.

(1)

->Right Click on My-Computer, and then click Manage.
->In the left pane, click Disk Management.
The disk type will be listed under "Type"

Once you find the "Type", then see if you are able to access the second partition.

(2)

-> Boot the computer with Partition Magic Disk and see if still Partition Magic shows one partition as BAD.
