Yesterday i merged two partitions with PM8. I ran into error 1520 and i followed the document which was in Sym KB but no help. I lost all the data and i had to recover my partition with GDB for ntfs. why this happens?

the KB article  say:

This error indicates that a particular file on the drive or partition contains inconsistent information that contrasts with the product's expectations. Based on the information gathered from one File Record Segment (FRS), the product assumes that a second FRS is external data or an extension of the first FRS. The error is reported when this second FRS declares itself as an independent file, not an extension of the first.
