You can't remove the minint now??

Yes, I remove minnint, but only temporarily...long enough for me to boot up normally (not in safe mode) once. The next time I boot up...there it is again and the boot stops. As long as I don't shut down, or reboot, everything is normal. While I had it running, I downloaded a Norton ugrade and ran a full system scan. Found and removed 24 tracking cookies, but did not mention the rogue virus.
Could the stray right hand bracket be causing a problem?

Get yourself into Normal Mode and stay there don't restart. I have the next step in waiting.

Now look and read carefully,
I have more than one way of doing this including with Windows not loading, burt lets try this way The BCD
Immediately do the following getting into Normal Mode
Click Start , All Programs, Accessories,
Right click on Command prompt and click "Run as Administrator"
.
Type the following line and press Enter. (Note : the brackets are NOT [ ] but { }, also note the spaces

Typed in in...it said "operation successfully completed".

Like this guy
After typing bcdedit /set {default} winpe no
It said something along the lines that the process has been run.
I then restarted the computer and it has now boot normally for the first time in almost a month. Everything seems to be working fine. I have now idea what that command did/does but it seems to have resolved the boot issue.
can you now boot boot normally also after the BCD alteration??

Didn't reboot.... 'cause you didn't tell me to! But I will do so now...

That's OK, this malware and others like it, its better to make sure every step is cmpleted in order successfully. Longer but safer.
When I started to read "Didn't reboot.... '" I thought OH Bugger. till I read the rest.
