Hi,

Installed Ghost 14.0.

Live Update ran and found 26,764.4 KB worth of update(s), but when it goes to download, the number changes to 25,855.7KB at the download screen.

LU downloads and gets stuck at 10,500 KB for a few seconds and then proceeds.

LU gives me the dreaded LU1803 (advised me to try again later).

If I try LU again, it finds the same 26,764.4/25855.7KB worth of files and tries downloading again, adding that it's already downloaded "1219688234jtun_norton_ghost_14.0_sp3_patch.zip.full.zip" and then crashes, giving me the LU1803 again.

which, by the way, it does NOT empty the Live Update folder's contents whatsoever, even though it claims it has (so I do it myself).

I've made certain that the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads is empty.

Then I've installed the latest Live Update and it goes through the same circle again.

I've uninstalled LU from Add/Remove and started over.  Same results.

Apparently, LU cannot get past the 10,500 KB portion of what it's trying to download?

This has brought back bad memories of LU from years past.  Please help!

The contents of the log are too long to post in one reply.  I've tried breaking it up into several pieces, but I still get an error that it's too large to post.

I don't see any way to add attachments to this post.  Can I email it?

It looks like the patch is being cancelled for some reason.  I've seen this happen when a UI opens up behind the LiveUpdate window and there's a response waiting for.  Ghost should pop up a secondary installation window during the update process.  Are you seeing that?

Hi Erik,

LU worked fine today, downloading everything and installing it and after rebooting, I ran it again and all products are up to date.

Here's my take:

I ran a full backup with Ghost 9.0 before uninstalling it and then installing 14.0.

Since I didn't need to run 14.0 right away, I simply ran LU, which, as we know, would not work.

Since contacting you about the issue, I've run a full backup with 14.0.

I think that "settled in" 14.0 to my computer.

That's why LU worked today.

Advise users not to run LU until Ghost has been used once?
