The correction is quite simple, just merging the unallocated patrition to the patrition D or F. And now Norton Ghost can work perfectly.

vinhnqls,

Where was the unallocated space? None was showing in partinfo. What did you do exactly? You mentioned, "D or F".

Re: Symantec norton ghost 15 can not recognize any drive

[ Edited ]
When I run disk management, I saw an unallocated space about 102 Mb which can not be seen in the computer. I think that's the main problem causing Norton Ghost's malfunction. I use a software called EASEUS Partition Manager. I had used this program when I resize the C patrition in the first time, but I did recklessly so it leaded to an unallocated space. Because everything seem to work normally, I hadn't concerned about this issue until I met the problem with Norton Ghost. Now, I just only resize the D patrtion which means merging the unallocated patrition to D. And Norton Ghost works immediately, no need to reinstall. I also use the BING as AllenM's recommendation; however the unallocated patrition makes this method become unsuitable. I also post the new partinfo file of recent partinfo's running to show that the mistake is fixed. Anyway, thanks AllenM a lot for helping me find out the problem.

Re: Symantec norton ghost 15 can not recognize any drive

vinhnqls,

The partition information looks fine now. Something in the way you modified the partitioning also corrected the overlapping partitions. Most likely when you partitioned the unallocated space you also changed the starting and ending sectors which eliminated the overlap in partitions 2 & 3.

By itself, unallocated space would not cause an issue for Ghost. Happy that it is working now.

And you are welcome, glad to have helped.
