Where was the unallocated space? None was showing in partinfo. What did you do exactly? You mentioned, "D or F".

The partition information looks fine now. Something in the way you modified the partitioning also corrected the overlapping partitions. Most likely when you partitioned the unallocated space you also changed the starting and ending sectors which eliminated the overlap in partitions 2 & 3.
By itself, unallocated space would not cause an issue for Ghost. Happy that it is working now.
