Unable to create backup to network drive

Hi, I have a Western Digital My Book World Edition; 2 TB networked external drive.

When I try to create a system restore point, I get the following error:

-Error E7C3000F: Device \\?\SymantecSnapshot0 cannot read 12292 sectors starting at LBA 2828304.
--Error EBAB03F1: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

I've tried reinstalling Ghost and it doesn't work; I still get the same error. I am able to back up documents/etc. to the networked drive (Drive Z:) with no issues, but run into this error when trying to create a system restore point/"My Computer Backup"

Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: Unable to create backup to network drive

coachkyle,

You may have bad sectors on your internal HD. Can you run chkdsk /r on your C: drive? What does the report say?

Re: Unable to create backup to network drive

I ran scandisk a couple of times; first time it found a couple of bad sectors and took care of them.

Last run came up clean, tried it and am still getting the same error. :-(

I assume you mean chkdsk? I'd run the HD Manufacturer's diagnostics. It sounds like your HD is failing.
