Utilities not confirming maintenance on new HDD

I was using Norton Utilities to maintain my compaq laptop with Vista. I recently used Ghost to upgrade my 80gb hard drive to a 500gb drive. Now when I run disk maintenance (optimize, defrag, etc.) It seems to work. But, it doesn't register in my system health page as complete and the last completed dates go back to my pre-upgrade times.

I'm assuming utilities is just not familiar with the drive. Is there a way to reset utilities? Or do you think it's something else?

Thanks

Hi,

Could it be that because you just transfered your files to a differeent drive that the tasks usually done be NU were completed by the transfer? That process would have eliminated or reduced fragmentation and there's not much to optomize on a new drive with everything in the right place.

I'm not aware of a way to 'reset' the utilities. Give it a week or so for the OS to do its usual thing and then see if NU doesn't find a few tasks to complete.
