dns configuration

Why does DNS stop me from viewing a newspaper website I have used for 10 years, 'thedailyreview.com?

If I disable DNS it will load.

We just renerwed our Norton 360 and DNS is new to me.

Not able to address your specific issue.  Just chimed in to say.

Welcome to the Norton Community  &

I get Server not found and timeouts w NDNS

I've tried NDNS to IPv4 a few times  ... always get buggy results.

Just tried NDNS again ...  unable to open webmail.

Even got Norton Community Login page in lo-fi once.  :smileysurprised:

NDNS is new to me and buggy imho

Hi guys,

We don't have any reports of slowdowns or problems. Can you help me understand exactly what is happening?

Are you getting block messages (NortonDNS is saying that the site has malicious content) or are you getting simple timeout errors?

Are you able to ping both of the DNS server addresses:  198.153.192.1 and 198.153.194.1?

Are you using the NortonDNS client, or did you change your settings manually?

Thanks! We will get this figured out.

Hello dnadir

Thanks for your interest...

Coincidenatlly, I had just setup NDNS manually (yet again) (with flush DNS) before reading your post.

re > Are you using the NortonDNS client, or did you change your settings manually?

Settings manually - not using NDNS client.  Was unsure how reliable reversal with NDNS client.

re > Are you able to ping both of the DNS server addresses:  198.153.192.1 and 198.153.194.1?

C:\Windows\system32>ping 198.153.192.1

Thanks again...

Is my NIS11 SafeWeb component compatible with NDNS SafeWeb component.   Two SafeWeb components called to act on url resolution ?

Tried Ping several times with same results.

Firefox can't find the server at mail.yahoo.com on first try.  Second try slow.  Third try is faster.

Firefox can't find the server at hotmail.com on first try.   Second try slow.  Third try is faster.

Seems like I'm training NDNS.

Maybe I should try 194.1 as Preferred and 192.1 as Alternate ?
