Re: systemworks to 360

Hi,

in theory Norton 360 will remove the AntiVirus part without any issue if you used the Standard or Premium SystemWorks version. No other steps are required.

Re: systemworks to 360

Because NSW2006 is an old program, and 360 4.0 is 4 years newer, I'm sure it was not tested so much like previous versions.

I will ask some Symantec  employee about it and will come back to you soon.

Re: systemworks to 360

Hello deanmorriarty

I would say your best bet would be to use the Norton Removal Tool for a few reasons. First, you are changing products. 2nd, the products are like 4 years apart. Over the top installations are for installing the same product over the previous year's product if there are no problems with the previous year's product.

Even if you uninstalled the Antivirus part from 2006 and left the Utilities part, there would or could be parts of N360 which would conflict with the old Norton's Utility part which might be left over. Installing on top of Norton System Works might damage the left over Utilities part also.

I would recommend the use of the Norton Removal Tool and completely get rid of Norton System Works although that will get rid of your other Norton products if you have any others. After the use of the removal tool, make sure the live update module is gone from add/remove and check for any left over folders also. Then install N360 cleanly without any conflicts . That's my opinion.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.
