About renewing your subscription - weakness

Why do Norton allow a non - admin user to enter a new subscripton key in NIS 2012 ?? , surely someone could enter a used key and totally mess your product up , and then you would have lost your current subscrition .

I have noticed this at work as i can bring up the Norton application , so in theory i could apply a used key and bring down their protection .   I wouldn't do this but i am just stating a weakness.

Re: About renewing your subscription - weakness

I have auto renewal and when it renewed this year I got a different product that cost me $20 more and now that I have actually looked at the special offers I have been charged about $30 more than I should have. Has anyone else had this problem and what should I do about this situation? Fanch

Hi Fanch,

When you were auto renewed, you should have been renewed for the same product you were using. Nortons Auto Renewal Service uses the billing information you have saved in your Norton Account.

Have you logged into your Norton account to check the status after your renewal? You should have both your emails from the product you say you were using and now this different product you bought. Is their any info you are leaving out that could help? Auto renewal renews the same product you have it set to renew, not a different product.

Contact Norton Chat to resolve this issue. You will use your computer, not the phone. Have your confirmation email(s) at the ready ....  Norton Chat
