Desktop gadget

[ Edited ]

I'd like to see the Windows desktop gadget again. It's a quick, simple way of checking that everything is good.

Hi Smarp,

Microsoft has eliminated support for gadgets in Windows 8, discontinued its gadget gallery, and, due to serious security risks, has urged users of Vista and Windows 7 to disable gadgets on their systems.  Gadgets are done.

Re: Desktop gadget

Further over. I pointed out in the Comodo forum theit widget in v.6 would be "insecure". They replied saying their widget is not a windows gadget hence the security risk does not apply. Hence, then, why not having a Norton 360 widget of its own like Comodo antivirus that we could choose to put on or off with a check mark in the settings?http://forums.comodo.com/news-announcements-feedback-cis/norton-took-out-the-widget-t86590.0.html

Re: Desktop gadget

I don't use the desktop gadget since I check my status with the Norton icon on the task bar.  I frankly think it's a waste of space.

When in doubt, uninstall / reinstall :smileywink:

Re: Desktop gadget

The point is I am visually impaired and the green check in the tray icon is hard to see. The gadget is way more visible.:cathappy:
