Show how many users have visited a given website

[ Edited ]

Analogy:

You're on a forum and see someone advertise their Facebook page: faceboook.com/profile?1021

You go to it.
You see that it has not been rated by Norton Safe Web yet (even so you may have never been on Facebook before and don't know that it is already rated by Norton) and few Norton users have been to the site.
You realise it is a phishing attempt.

How it could work:

Norton Toolbar displays None, Few or Many.

Click on the Safe Web icon (using N2011 Beta here) and the site safety drop-down will display if it is Less than 10, Less than 100, Hundreds of Thousands, etc.

Also, some people may not want to trust a website that no or few Norton users have been to before, especially if it is an online shop that you were considering buying from.

So...

It will show how many times a norton user have visited the site. but what if I refresh the site, will it add more one user to the count? Or Norton will know that I had been there before and don't had more users to the count? If Norton knows that I had been there before it means that Norton ill store info about all my visited websites. Now why would I want Norton to have my Internet browsing habits?

Status changed to: Planned

Check this out: http://www.facebook.com/connect/uiserver.php?app_id=310877173418&next=http%3A%2F%2Fapps.facebook.com... This is a planned feature for the upcoming NIS 2011. I think this pretty much covers this request.

Nice to see something similar implemented in the 2013 products http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=2094728&postcount=30 :smileyhappy:
