Re: Supporting 64-bit browsers

I would like to add my contribution to the topic after having discussed already the point on the forum.

The trend is to generalize 64 bits, at operating system level, but at application level as well. So, I do believe that add-ons providers should follow, as it was recently done by Adobe for Flash. It's only with full convergence that full performance improvement will be obtained at the end. For IE 9 limitations, JIT story is known but I am convinced that solving it is also part of convergence process and will come too.

In that context, I do believe Norton add-ons should be provided in 64 bits too. As soon as possible.

kind regards

The Norton toolbar, and other browser components should be able for the 64-bit browsers (IE7 and IE8, Firefox Minefield) as well.

I also agree with 64 bit browser support.

Re: Supporting 64-bit browsers

Does Norton really need a vote on this? x64 architecture is inevitable, and I'm sure Norton realizes this.  It is disappointing that it has taken them (you) so long to implement it. :mansurprised: Meanwhile, I'll "vote" for it.

Re: Supporting 64-bit browsers

In addition to support for 64-bit browsers, I would also be a lot more comfortable using a native 64-bit version of NIS.

Re: Supporting 64-bit browsers

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and Norton Identity Safe works with IE9 32 bit.  However, I also have Office 2010 64 bit and it has intermittent problems activating IE9 32 BIT when I click on links in the Outlook email messages.  Outlook often hangs and I have to use the Windows Close/Restart function to resolve the hang.

64 bit is here to stay and I want to continue to use NIS 2012/Identity Safe.   I hope NIS is changed to use 64 bit soon so that I will not have to change to a different product.

Add me to the list of people wishing NIS and Identify Safe would work with IE 64 bit.

Re: Supporting 64-bit browsers - Yes Vote

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and IE 9. I hope that Norton Internet Security and Identity Safe could run on any 64-bit browser in the next release.
