First, excuse my english. I decide to post here, instead of a forum of my language, because I though would the most near as possible of the makers of this anti-virus. That I got used too, but still have some features that bugs me.
One is when I access a folder, and Norton quickly put some file in quarantine. What is fine. But I trust that file, and decide to restore it (a option that is not easy to find), and in the exact moment that I do, Norton put it back again in quarantine, because the folder was opened. Now, even if I type the name of the file in two exclusion lists, thats are also options not easy to find, the file will keep going back.
My suggestion is that the option to recover it, will automatic add that file as an exclusion. Also would be nice that the file name will keep any capital letter that had before.
As a PC gamer, one thing that I like to use is cheating applications. The one called "trainers", or even the trainer makers, often get cought as an unamed virus (possible because of its similar behavior). What I also am fine with it, since I don't know the people that makes it, but sometimes we need to trust someone.
So here is my suggestion. After I restore it and I can tell the Norton that the file is limited to mdify only the files that are inside a choosen folder and subfolders. That way I can tell that the memory editor application can only change what is inside the game folder. If it decide to go beyond it, than that Norton can block as a virus.
Now, I'm goint to add a few thoughs that is not required for the suggestion sections, so you can skip it. Or read, if you don't mind. =)
You know when you go to a shop and the attendant do not properly service you? Or is misinformed about the product, or lie about it. You suggest improvements, but the person just smile and don't lissen to you. Its like for that shop you are just one of many. They might even be good people, but for some reason, your simple suggestions are never accepted. And that is what I wish that won't happen here.
I don't think that I'm the only one or the first that ranted about this mistakes of the Norton. Or made suggestions for improve it. But I wish that someone inside Norton will read this, and find it easy to make a solution for my, and many others, problems.
I don't know if this message will ever reach them. I don't know if anyone else will even bother with it. And I don't know if this message will even be considered againts the rules and deleted.
I just wish that Norton would be more gamer friendly.
