Re: what would you like too see in norton 360 v7

1.  Dump Activity Map.  This is a superfluous feature.

2.  Off line help.  I liked v5 help menu.

3.  ?  Anyone?

Offline help, please, please, please!
It would be very much appreciated, especially to the dial-up community (yes, we still exist); with laptop computers, finding a phoneline and jack isn't always possible or convenient. Also, finding information on web pages takes a while.

At least, provide an option for local help menus; maybe one that can be updated to match the then-current "version" of help. The online help could still be used; maybe with a default setting for which is used by left-clicking, and a choice with right-clicking (as in the "list" that oftentimes appears in Windows).

I have more thoughts and ideas on this, but I want to know how people feel about this. It seems like only a small change to the program, but it would be at least somewhat substantial to users like myself.

would like to see after you run norton registry cleanup that norton doesn't delete files on its own, but to see the files and be able to delete them on your own or do nothing with them

Better Malware/adware/spyware detection.  search.babylon.com got through Norton 360 undetected and is one of the worst toolbar type malware; been around for a few years as well.  Spybot S&D found & fixed it - but also found quite a few more more that Norton had missed.  Dissapointing given that spybot is free and I pay for Norton ......

Fully configurable live update scheduling!!!!  I need to be able to schedule these at my discretion, not every single hour!  These should be as configurable as scan times and types.  If there's something absolutely critical, then by some means alert me to do something, but this FORCED every hour as long as my machine is online is absurd!

I've resorted to turning live update OFF when I sit down to work and then back ON when I head afk for a period.

Re: what would you like too see in norton 360 v7

I'd like to see the user interface returned closer to what it was like in version 5 (or better yet version 4!).

Version 6 requires too many steps to get things done and has even been de-integrated (why are custom

scan and custom tasks separate now?)  I also don't want to see ads for other Symantec products (like

Norton Mobile Security) in my product.  I don't own a free ad supported version of N360.  I paid for my

product!  The v6 UI is ugly too and looks amateurish.

My entire list of concerns is in a separate thread in this section.

I actually downgraded back to version 5 because of the version 6 UI.
