Just so I understand correctly -- using the reset button that "flushes the password" refers to the password for accessing the "Control Panel" of the router -- default admin on Linksys very often.
It does not alter any security settings to do with accessing the internet? Although obviously it does open it up for security changes too.
TIA because I'd never thought atbout the consequences of being asked to reset by my ISP techies.
Hugh,
When you push the reset button it returns the whole router to factory defaults. This would mean all your passwords, network naming and various IP settings are no longer. This is usually a recessed small button on the back of the unit that needs a papereclip or similar fine pointed tool to reach and push.
Hope this helps

Hugh,
I didn't hear it either. I did it and then had to go back and do a total reconfiguration of the router. [Also made sure I had a copy of all of the settings - for the next time]
